Grimsby Town YTH 0 Doncaster Rovers YTH 1

10 January 2015

THE Mariners Youth Team went down 1-0 to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday morning.

There were very few clear cut chances in a game that was adversely affected by the windy weather conditions, with Town’s best opportunity coming early on through Max Wright, who beat two players on the edge of the box before hitting the outside of the post with his shot.

The only goal of the game came midway through the second half, when the ball fell to Rovers striker around twenty yards out and he made no mistake in smashing the ball past Jack Pearson.

Alan Lamb’s side huffed and puffed for an equaliser but it wasn’t to be and they will look to bounce back when they are next in action against Chesterfield at Cheapside on 24th January.
