TOWN boss Paul Hurst thought that his side were the best side on the night and deserved their 1-0 victory at promotion rivals Eastleigh.
“I think for the large part we played very well tonight. We should have put the game to bed, but to come here, on the back of the games we've had, after a long journey down, it is all credit to the lads.
“We took the game to them. We didn't come here to defend and hit them on the break, I thought we were the better side from minute one to eighty five.”
Paul Hurst has also confirmed that he has spoken to Mansfield boss Adam Murray about extending the loan of tonight's goalscorer Ollie Palmer.
Ollies current loan with the club is due to end after the Forest Green game on February 7.
He said: “I think the player is enjoying playing football, so fingers crossed, we might be able to keep him until the end of the season.”
