GRIMSBY Town kept up their 100 per cent winning record in pre-season with a 3-1 victory at Gainsborough Trinity.
Nathan Arnold gave the Mariners an early lead before Marc Newsham levelled the scores in the second-half.
But new striker Padraig Amond was on hand to regain the lead six minutes before time, and grabbed his second three minutes later to confirm the win.
Paul Hurst's side found themselves in front just three minutes into the game as Craig Clay's through ball found the Trinity defence on their heels.
Arnold then raced forward and calmly slotted home past Jan Budtz to open the scoring.
The first-half went by without much incident, but the home side worked their way back into it and equalised midway through the second-half.
Nathan Jarman's clever chip into the box found Newsham, who had plenty of time to steer his header past Andy Warrington and level things.
Just as things looked to be heading for a draw, substitute Amond popped up with a quick double to win the game for the Mariners.
Marcus Marshall worked his way in from the left before laying on to the Irishman who curled the ball into the bottom corner after 84 minutes.
And the striker got his second late on as he raced away from the Trinity defence before scoring Town's third and final goal of the afternoon.
