SHAUN Pearson has become Paul Hurst's eight summer signing after he penned a new two-year deal today.
The big defender had been linked with a move away from Blundell Park and he admits that it wasn't straight forward signing for the Mariners.
He said: “It was a difficult decision, if I am totally honest. I had a lot to weigh up.
“It took me long and hard, and probably up until yesterday, it was still playing on my mind.
“I got it down to two options – Grimsby and another club.
“Once I had seen that some of the other lads were signing on, I am confident that we are going to have a squad that is going to challenge at the right end of the table again.”
