NORWEGIAN Grimsby Town fan Jostein Jensen is getting ready to face a 1200 mile round trip to see the Mariners at Wembley on Sunday.
Jostein was fascinated by the name Grim as a kid and so, instead of choosing a Manchester United or Liverpool to support in England, he decided that he would follow the fortunes of Grimsby Town.
Speaking of the long journey to the UK, he said: “I am travelling to see us at Wembley for the second time.
“It's 564 miles from Stavanger to London. I've seen us live in five matches earlier, but I've never seen us win. Bad omen?.”
Jostein started up a Norweigian Grimsby Town fan club and there are now 40 members – including former Town defender Knut Anders Fostervold.
But Jostein will be making the long trek alone at the weekend.
He said: “I am the only Norwegian travelling over, as far as I'm aware. The game is on Norway's national day, 17th May, meaning it is a family day, so perhaps it's not that easy for all to go.
“I'm staying at the Ibis hotel, Wembley, which is only 800 meters from Wembley Stadium.”
And now the 37-year-old his hoping to receive his order from the Grimsby Town club shop in time for the big day.
Jostein added: I hope to get my new kit in the mail before the weekend with 33 Z Palmer on the back.
“I think we will be third time lucky in Play Off. It would be fantastic if we go back to the league after five years in non-league.”
Hopefully Jostein's wish will come true and he makes it back to Heathrow for his 19:50 flight – he's got to be at work at 6.30 am.
