CRAIG Disley is the first player to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the club.
The skipper, who will be in his fifth season with the Mariners, was one of 12 players who were offered new deals by Paul Hurst. Speaking after signing a one-year deal, he said: “It was an easy decision to make.
“Once I got the chance to stay again this year, it was just a matter of getting things sorted and signed as soon as possible.”
And now Craig is hoping that some of the players who have been offered new deals will follow his lead. He said: “The lads have been offered contracts and I am sure that there will be a couple that have bits and bobs to look at in different places. I am hoping that we can keep the core of the squad together. If we do that we are going to have a really good chance,” he added.
