Referee Watch - Braintree Town

8 October 2015

REFEREE Craig Hicks will take charge of Town's trip to Braintree Town this coming Saturday.

The Surrey based referee has officiated at National League level since the 2013/14 season, with his first game being the clash between Salisbury and Tamworth in August 2013.

He will be assisted by linesmen Kieran Bailey and Neil Morrison, whilst Gary Jerden will act as Fourth Official.

When he isn't out on the pitch, Hicks works at the Surrey FA as their Coach Education Officer, where he deals with all their local coaching enquiries. Another interesting fact for you is that according to their official website, his favourite dish is Spaghetti Bolognese.

Hicks gave out 45 yellow cards and one red in 16 games last campaign, whilst he has handed out 23 yellow cards and one red in seven games this time out.

LAST TIME OUT

Saturday will be the first time that Hicks has refereed a Town game in the National League, a surprising statistic considering he has refereed at this level for two seasons now.

However, he has refereed opponents Braintree so far this season, taking charge of their 2-1 defeat to Aldershot Town at the end of August.
