Town boss Paul Hurst praised his team for showing resilience to come away from the Deva Stadium with a last gasp equaliser.
He said: "Yes they've shown good character to keep going. I think we upped our intensity level once we were behind, that's my only slight criticism to the players after.
"Obviously Chester are going to feel hard done by, it was slightly over the four minutes (initial four minutes) but there was a couple of fouls within that, which I think make it play out.
"It would have been extremely harsh on us if we'd left here with nothing."
