TOWN striker Omar Bogle has been named the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for November.
Scoring all but two of Town's November goals, it was the variety of Bogle’s seven in four games which really stood out.
A tap-in, a flicked header, one-on-one finishes and even a 30-yard stunner into the top corner against Crawley Town.
Town boss Marcus Bignot said: “It's great for him as an individual. He's been good but he can be better. He's going in the right direction, but I want him or one of our players to win Player of the Year.”
Bogle said: “I'm absolutely buzzing. It's good to see that I've been rewarded for the work that I've done on the pitch. I'm happy to get it, obviously I was in contention another time, didn't quite make it. It's a good accolade to get in my first year in the EFL”
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Goals, goals, goals in November, and indeed this season, for Grimsby Town’s hitman Omar Bogle.
“Sixteen goals in the league so far make him the highest scoring player across England’s top four divisions and mean that Grimsby are within touching distance of a Play-Off spot and are probably far exceeding pre-season expectations.”
Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “The Mariners hit man was in scintillating goal scoring form again this month scoring seven goals in four games in the month of November. Bogle is now the favourite with Sky Bet at 11/8 to win the League Two Golden Boot.
“Grimsby meanwhile sit mid table in Sky Bet League Two and with Bogle continuing his fine goalscoring exploits Grimsby will now be hoping for a promotion push. They are currently only two points off the playoffs and are 6/1 with Sky Bet to be promoted.”
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
