NEWCASTLE referee Ross Joyce will take charge of the League Two clash against Accrington Stanley at Blundell Park on Boxing Day.
Joyce was a regular during the Mariners' National League days before promoted to Football League level in 2015 at the age of just 29, making him the youngest referee in the EFL at the tmie.
He last a officiated a Town game in the National League Promotion Final defeat to Bristol Rovers at Wembley Stadium back in May 2015, where he somewhat controversially decided not to send off Rovers' keeper Will Puddy for handling outside of his area.
So far this season, he has taken charge of 24 games, handing out 106 yellow cards and eight red cards in the process.
The official will be assisted by Alix Pashley and Gareth Mellor with Anthony Tankard acting as fourth official.
