Woods Looks To Bolster His Squad

13 December 2016

NEIL Woods has bolstered his youth side by adding a striker and a wide player to his squad. Ahkeem Rose, a front man who is currently on trial from Midlands League side St Johns, while Ty-Rhys Paul Jones is a wide man who was at Walsall's academy with Neil Woods.

Both players made an impact at the weekend against Hartlepool, with Ahkeem scoring both goals in a 2-1 win against Pools.

The visitors had taken the lead with a breakaway goal in the first half, but the Mariners piled on the pressure and Ahkeem ran through the Pool's defence and equalised at the second attempt. And then, with only minutes remaining in the game, the trialist frontman linked up well with Brandon Buckley, before cutting inside his marker and finishing powerfully past the Pool's keeper.

Neil Woods' side are next in action this Saturday when they face York City at Cheapside (11am).
