Referee Watch - Woking

22 February 2016

REFEREE Michael Salisbury will officiate Town's National League clash with Woking at Blundell Park on Tuesday night.

The son of Football League referee Graham Salisbury, the Lancashire based official is in his first season at this level after spending time as an assistant referee higher in the footballing pyramid.

He has handed out 14 yellow cards in the same amount of games so far this season, showing his willingness to be sensible and keep his cards in his pocket most of the time.

However, he has handed out one red card to Halifax goalkeeper Russell Griffiths in their match at Gateshead earlier in the season - a decision that was successfully appealed by the Shaymen.

Salisbury will be assisted by Kelvin Sarsfield and Sean Feerick for the game, whilst Sean Richardson is to be the Fourth Official.

LAST TIME OUT

The only time Salisbury has officiated Town so far in his short career was back in December, when the Mariners beat Dover Athletic 1-0 at Blundell Park.

In a frustrating encounter that day, Dover held firm until the very last minute, when Richard Orlu fouled Conor Townsend in the box and Padraig Amond tucked away the resulting penalty to give Town all three points.
