Comfortably In The End - Doig

9 January 2016

Despite the 4-0 scoreline assistant manager Chris Doig wasn't pleased with the Mariners' first half performance. He said: “Pretty poor in our opinion.

“Obviously not easy conditions to play in. We probably didn't play to the conditions in the first half. We were caught on the ball a few times and gave them the chance to counter against us.

“Second half, we were a bit more positive. Slightly more direct without going long all the time.

“And the first goal is always crucial and we got it. Great header from Podge. From there on in it was pretty comfortable.”

And Doigy had some special praise for the 807 Town fans at Park View Road.

“The fans were absolutely fantastic. First half, when it was a bit scrappy, I thought they were singing and getting behind the team. I have to give them a big thanks from the staff and all the players.”
