TOWN boss Paul Hurst says that there are still a few things to consider ahead of picking his starting Xl to face Morecambe in Saturday's Sky Bet League two opener.
Speaking after Saturday's friendly against Oldham, he said: “We'll see. I've still got a few things to consider. It wasn't one hundred percent set in stone today that that would be my starting 11. A couple of lads missed today that I am hoping will be fit for next Saturday.
“Tom (Bolarinwa) playing on the left and that was something that I wanted to have a look at. I think it is something that he can do.
“There are still things to look at but clearly there aren't going to be any mass changes from that.”
But the Town boss is pleased with how his new look side is shaping up.
He said: "Our shape is getting better. We've got back to a shape that a lot of players are more familiar with and more used to, but there are still things that you see that you want to do better – that will be the case throughout the season.
"It's nice to get a win, though, and have that feeling in the dressing room.
"Although it was our final pre-season game, it was nice to go into the room and get a different feeling to what we've had recently.
“We've got players that pick up nice little areas and play some good football.”
And Hurst was pleased to get striker Scott Vernon on board.
He added: “The way that he gets hold of the ball. His experience, the little areas that he finds. While we are not shy of trying to improve players and coach them, Scott is doing quite a lot of things naturally, through experience.
“It's a valuable asset to have.
Asked if Saturday's starting Xl was somewhere near his starting Xl to face Morecambe, the Town boss said.
