The Mariners ended their pre season programme with a deserved 2-1 victory against League One side Oldham this afternoon.
Scott Vernon, who signed for the Mariners ahead of kick-off, was named in Paul Hurst's starting Xl, with Omar Bogle taking his place on the Town bench.
The Mariners took the lead on 14 minutes when a probing cross from the right by Davies was met by a great header from Jackson, nodding into the far corner.
James McKeown tipped over an effort from Croft, and Jackson saw his clever flick hit the side netting.
On 37 minutes, the Oldham keeper did well to beat away a 15-yard effort from McAllister - after an excellent run and cross down the left by Bolarinwa.
But the visitors drew level on 56 minutes when a free kick from the left was met by a downward header from Clarke at close range.
A great take by Vose on 56 minutes at the far post, laid the ball off nicely for McAllister who saw his effortwell blocked.
And it was Vose restored the Mariners' lead on 79 minutes when his stunning free kick from 24 yards flew into the top corner, off the underside of the crossbar.
