The 25 year old played for Fleetwood Town last year and has enjoyed recent spells at Macclesfield Town & Cheltenham Town respectively.
Danny becomes the first new summer acquisition by Paul Hurst and is looking forward to the coming season. "I am delighted to have signed", Andrew said. "I felt at ease straight away. I was welcomed by all the staff that I met and I can't wait to meet the boys now."
Predominantly a left back, the strong defender enjoys venturing forward and helping the team attack. "I'd like to think I am good on the ball, aggressive in defending & I like to get forward when the time is right where I can affect the game".
Mariners fans may remember Danny from the 13/14 season, where he scored a great free-kick for Macclesfield Town (see below). "I like to be involved in set piece taking and I have scored a few free kicks on the way", Andrew said. "I put a lot of time in on the training ground, so i'm hoping I can earn the respect from the boys to allow me to take a few and hopefully a few will find the back of the net".
After securing promotion through the play-offs, the defender congratulated his new team mates but is ready to go again. "I don't see why it should stop now", mentioned Andrew. "I don't see any reason in us not being able to go again and keep this successful winning feeling about the club into next season. I'm looking forward to being part of this successful journey and I can't wait to get started!"
