GRIMSBY Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Max Wright has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the club.
Max has been with the club from a young age, coming through the ranks and eventually graduating from the clubs Youth system. "It's going to be difficult, but I can not wait!" said Wright.
After struggling with injuries during his 2 years of a youth team scholar, Max is not going to let that stand in his way. "Obviously I have had a lot of injuries here but I don't want to take it easy", insisted Wright. "I want to put all my effort into everything all the time and just enjoy it".
When asked about what he can bring to the team, the 18 year old said "traditionally a lot of wingers use their pace to beat people, to go past people and change the game. That's what I want to do, be a game changer."
Despite this being Max's first professional contract, he has got his sights firmly set on emulating fellow Youth graduate Josh Venney and earning himself more in the future. "Hopefully after this year, I can get myself another year if I play well enough and kick on from there".
