WE are pleased to announce the signing of former York City midfielder, Luke Summerfield on a two year deal.
After a busy summer for the 28 year old, the midfielder is happy to have his future sorted. "I'm very happy to be here." Said Summerfield. "I've been speaking to the manager a while and he has come across really well."
After spending his career within the Football League, he was determined to maintain his status. "I was desparate to stay in the Football League and when Grimsby were speaking to me over the summer, I was desperate to come here and sign", said Summerfield. "I only hear positive things about the club and meeting everyone here has made the decision very easy for me."
Luke began his career at Plymouth Argyle, where he came through the Youth academy, before making his first team debut during the 2004/05 season. He has also enjoyed permanent spells at Cheltenham Town, Shrewsbury Town and most recently, York City. Summerfield will link up with fellow summer signing Danny Andrew, who he played alongside at Cheltenham Town during the 11/12 season.
