MERSEYSIDE official Robert Jones will be the man in the middle when Town head to Plymouth Argyle at the weekend.
The last time Jones was in charge of a Town game will bring back plenty of fond memories for Mariners fans, as it was in fact the 3-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers at Wembley Stadium in the National League Promotion Final back in May, where the club booked its place back in the EFL after a six year absence.
Jones was thanked for his efforts at non-league level last season by being given their showpiece fixture back then, and that reward continued over the summer when he was promoted to EFL level himself.
He handed out 59 yellow cards and one red card in 17 games so far this season, with the solitary red card coming in his last game when he sent off Notts County's Vadaine Oliver in their 4-0 loss at Blackpool last weekend.
Jones will be assisted by John Flynn and Robert Dabbs, with Adrian Yanter the Fourth Official.
