Hurst Bids Town A Fond Farewell

24 October 2016

FORMER Town boss Paul Hurst was introduced to the Shrewsbury press this afternoon after he was unveiled as the Shrewsbury Town manager. Asked about his time with the Mariners, Hurst said that he thinks he has left the club in a better place than when he arrived at Blundell Park.

Speaking to Shrewsbury Town, he said: "I think it's mutually beneficial. I had some fantastic times there - some near misses and quite a bit of heartache.  In general they were still successful seasons, couldn't quite get over the line up until last season.  Like I said, some fantastic memories at the football club.

There's some good people there, I had a really good squad, some good players over my time there.

"I will have fond memories and hope they go on and have a good season," he added.
