Club Statement: New Management Duo Appointed

12 April 2017

WE are delighted to announce that Russell Slade has been appointed the new Grimsby Town manager.

This will be the 56-year-old's second spell in charge of the Mariners after previously taking the reins between 2004 and 2006.

During that time, he led the club to within a whisker of promotion to League One, only missing out by a single goal in the play-off final at the Millennium Stadium. During his 23-year career as a manager, Slade has also been in charge at Cardiff, Leyton Orient, Brighton, Yeovil, Scarborough, Sheffield United and Notts County.

Slade will takeover first team affairs with immediate effect.

The new manager will be assisted by former Town, Nottingham Forest and Everton striker Paul Wilkinson. You will be able to watch our exclusively live press conference by subscribing to our Official YouTube Channel.
