TYNE and Wear's Eddie Ilderton will be the man in charge for the League Two curtain raiser against Chesterfield on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Ilderton is an experienced official and has refereed at EFL level for 15 seasons, taking charge of a number of Mariners games over the years
The last of those came in the final home game of last season when Town beat Yeovil Town 4-2 at Blundell Park.
He also refereed Saturday's fixture at Chesterfield's old Saltergate ground in January 2008 when a Danny North brace saw Town come away with a 2-1 victory.
Last season saw him hand out 52 yellow cards and three reds in 18 games across all three divisions.
He will be assisted by Anthony Moore, Richard Wigglesworth and fourth official Duncan Street for the clash at the Proact Stadium.
