Grimsby Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Blackpool striker, Jamille Matt on a season-long-loan.
The 27-year-old striker joins us from the Seasiders, where he has made a total of 39 appearances since the start of the 2016/17 season, scoring on 3 occasions.
Matt's professional career started at Kidderminster Harriers, scoring a total of 22 goals in 62 league appearances for the club. His performances caught the eye of Fleetwood Town, who secured his services in Jaunary 2013 by paying a club transfer fee. In total, he spent a total of 3 years at the club.
Despite missing the 2014/15 season through injury, Matt made a total of 63 appearances for the club scoring 16 goals. In his final season at the club, he spent 2 months on loan at Stevenage scoring once in 8 apperances. Matt also enjoyed a short loan spell at Plymouth Argyle, where he scored 7 times in 14 appearances.
Following his release from Fleetwood Town at the end of the 2015/16 season, Matt signed for his current club where he helped them achieve promotion to Sky Bet League One.
Jamille will join up with his new team mates on Thursday and will be available for selection for Saturday's home game vs. Crewe Alexandra. We can announce that Jamille will wear the number 29 shirt.
