Marty Wilde the singing sensation of the late 1950’s and early 60’s comes from these parts. His daughter Kim (We’re The Kids In America) probably wasn’t born in Stevenage
And we think that Dick Turpin - the infamous highway robber – plied his trade not far from here?
How to get there.
Leave the A1(M) at Junction 7 and take the A602 towards Stevenage. Go straight across the first roundabout and as you approach the next roundabout you can see the floodlights of the ground over on the right. However, if you go straight across the roundabout then you will see the entrance to a large car park on your left, which is free to park in. The car park though has only one entrance/exit, so this can lead to bit of a bottleneck after the game has finished.
Please avoid parking at the nearby Roaring Meg Retail Park on Saturday matchdays as you are only allowed to park there for 90 minutes. Staying longer could see you with a £100 parking ticket.
Otherwise there is street parking to be found in the local area.
Coaches: Coaches to park at Fairland’s Valley car park (this is opposite the stadium).
Post Code for SAT NAV: SG2 8RH
