Town boss Russell Slade says that his side could and should have seen off Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night - if they had been more ruthless in front of goal.
Speaking after the tie, he said: "I thought it was quite a good game. I thought it was a fairly even first half. We started well, managed to get the first goal which was good. We were on the front foot, they got a very good equaliser. Then second half I think we were on top again. I thought we had a lovely spell just after half time. In that period I think we needed to go on and hurt them, go and get a goal.
We should have made sure that we got the victory tonight. We need to be ruthless.
Slade was delighted to have concluded the deal to bring Jamille Matt to the club on a season long loan.
He said: “He’s something different. He’s six-foot-four, he’s a strong runner, he’s very strong in the air. I just think he’s different to what we’ve got.
“I know plenty about him, I looked at him quite a bit in the close season. He was on our list, then we thought we had him, and he was going to come over. That stalled, for one reason or another, I think he had other options.
“Now we’ve managed to get him, he’s going to move down with his family as well. That shows a real commitment to the club and the cause."
Hoping to do some more business in the transfer window,
The Town boss added that he was hoping to do a little bit more business in the transfer market ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
