Club Statement - Supporter Liaison Officer

13 December 2017

It is with sad regret that Kristine Green, the last of the original three Supporters Liaison Officers (SLO) doing this role has decided to resign immediately.

Following the Fans Forum, the Club acted swiftly to appoint extra capacity as the role was being covered by Kristine alone. It was clear from comments made at the Fans Forum, that additional capacity was needed to enhance the home and away supporters match day experience.

Last night, the Club agreed with the Mariners Trust, a broad set of terms related to the combined roles which are being worked up for implementation. The Club being the responsible body, are required to ensure a code of conduct is adhered to, so the plan is to agree terms of reference to maximise the benefit of the joint roles and to further enhance the great work that Kristine was undertaking.

It had been noted as time passed, that the Mariners Trust wanted to clarify that the SLO roles should sit with the Club and that needed to be clear. That being said, it doesn’t stop the Mariners Trust nominating another suitable person if they wish. Therefore, the Club will discuss the Vacancy with them, as a voice from the Trust on supporters experiences and the information that they receive is vitally important going forward. All roles moving forward will be firmly sat under the GTFC umbrella.

The Club would like to put on record its thanks and kind regards to Kristine, she will be a tough act to follow and should Kristine wish to reconsider her resignation the role will be kept open for now.

Adie Merrikin has been tasked with improving the match day experience here at Blundell Park (BP) and the notification of any relevant information relating to BP. The additional vacancy is focused primarily on the needs of our supporters whilst on their travels, to ensure that the away day experience is a safe and enjoyable for all.

In the meantime, any questions or queries that you have should be directed to Adie Merrikin and his e-mail is: Adie will provide official response to any questions that are relevant to his role via e-mail, although he is also available during home fixtures and to that extent will be touring the stadium pre-match going forward.
