An update regarding our proposed relocation to Peaks Parkway
As reported prior to last week’s fans’ forum and Annual General Meeting, the Club are pleased to report that representatives of Extreme have met with North East Lincolnshire Council to progress the Club’s plans for relocation to Peaks Parkway. The project is part of a wider enabling scheme, which will see a £250 million inward investment should it come to fruition.
The enabling scheme will consist of other leisure facilities and a significant number of affordable homes, both at Peaks Parkway and other locations within the town.
As mentioned previously, it is a complex project with no easy means of delivery, but the Club remains confident that in partnership with the Council and Extreme, that this development has got every chance of succeeding. This will see the construction of a new Community Stadium fit for the 21st century at Peaks Parkway.
Club Director, John Fenty has spoken about his thoughts regarding this latest news. “It’s fantastic to learn that the council and Extreme have held positive talks regarding the relocation of the Football Club. A project of this nature will require everyone to pull together to ensure that we leave a lasting legacy to be proud of, and give young people a chance to get on the housing ladder”.
