A number of first team squad players have returned to training this week however, Saturday may come too soon for their return.
Midfielders, James Berrett and Dominic Vose have been struggling with injury, with defender Josh Gowling also returning to full training. During his pre-match press conference, Manager Marcus Bignot confirmed that the trio have returned to training. "The other guys have started training again today, So James Berrett and Dom Vose who has had niggle after niggle. Also, Josh Gowling returned to training after being out for a few weeks", mentioned Bignot.
With regards Vose, Bignot is glad to have him back training and on the road to recovery. "After Crawley and Hartlepool, we couldn't get him back", explained Bignot. "It's important we keep him out on the training pitch and build him up to make sure he's right". When asked if Vose has had a good chance within the squad, Marcus replied "No, because like I said when the opportunity arose, he picked up niggles. Dom is one of those players we are going to need but as I said, we need to keep him out on that pitch".
With January being a busy month regarding transfers, the manager confirmed "there will be a couple of debuts, but we've got to integrate them slowly". With the sale of Omar Bogle on deadline day, the manager is looking forward to moving on and creating partnerships at the top of the field. "I had it with Omar when I sold him to Grimsby from Solihull. He was the leagues top scorer and the following season we ended up winning the league and got goals from all over the pitch", explained Bignot. "I'm really looking forward to seeing good old fashioned centre forward pairings, a big man and a man off him who is strong and powerful, a good old fashioned front two!"
