THE Mariners have no fresh injury concerns going into tonight's Sky Bet League Two clash at Newport County. James Berrett, Dominic Vose and Luke Maxwell all remain sidelined.
However, Town boss Marcus Bignot is set to make some changes to the squad that were thumped at Crewe at the weekend. The changes had already been planned ahead of that Crewe game, says the Town boss.
Speaking at his pre match press conference, he said: "That was always the plan, always the script. Obviously with Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday in mind, with two contrasting games, that was always going to be on the agenda."
The Town boss now says that we need to put Saturday behind us and prepare for a battle against The Exiles.
He said: "With the way the pitch is, and the way Newport set-up, the game presents itself as a real fight.
"It's going to be a war of attrition. It's going to be a real battle of will, and a case of who wants it most.
"Don't read into the league table. Newport will be fighting for their livelihoods.
"You can imagine what we were like in the season we got relegated. How much did every minute of those games mean to us?
"We have got to stand up to the challenge, and we have got to be better than it.
"When you have got people fighting for their livelihoods, it can be difficult. But we're hurting as well – and we have got something to fight for.
"It's going to be a right good fight."
New signing Maxime Blanchard looks set to make his second start for the Exiles with Scot Bennett and Sean Rigg both doubtful due to injury.
