GRIMSBY Town Football Club are delighted to announce that on loan Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson has extended his stay with the Mariners until the end of the season.
Since making his eagerly anticipated debut for the club on Boxing Day in our 2-0 victory over Accrington Stanley, Dean has played in all six fixtures keeping four clean sheets along the way.
Dean was given his debut by mananger, Marcus Bignot and the young goalkeeper was quick to give thanks. "I'm absolutely delighted (to sign) but first and foremost i'd like to thank the manager for putting his trust in me and going forward I can't wait to see what the season holds for us".
Over the past few weeks, Henderson had been the subject of reported interest from a number of clubs however, he was quick to point out the Mariners fans were a significant factor in his decision to stay. "The fans are a massive selling point for me" said Henderson. "I'm not going to lie, they are absolutely brilliant, it makes you feel unbeatable!"
"It's surprising how the fans took to me, I was really delighted with it. The passion I put into my football shows and it looks like they're going to give me it back which is fantastic. It's great to have a good relationship with the fans so that was a massive decision for me staying here, I want to do well for them and they will keep supporting us".
