This is an email that we received from an Exeter City fan over the weekend.
My name is John Bishop and I’m writing to you on behalf of Grecian Travel, who are the official ECFC supporters transport.
It is very rare these days we feel the need to write and congratulate a club their warm and friendly welcome. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by two smiling stewards who explained where the nearest pub and food outlets were and even taken on a short cut through the ground. All the stewards were totally professional throughout the game and a real credit to Grimsby Town Football Club.
My second reason for writing is to say a big, big thank you to one steward especially, sorry we didn't get his name only his number 101. He noticed that one of our elderly travellers didn't look too well and his help and kindness potentially avoided serious harm coming to Maurice. We were taken into the home part of the social club and made really welcome and Maurice was checked over by the brilliant ambulance service, who along with the steward kept checking on his progress throughput the second half. Eventually, Maurice started to warm up and I’m happy to say we got him home and tucked up safely.
Well done GTFC, a real football club with real loyal, friendly supporters. We wish you the best of luck for the rest of the season and hopefully will see you next season (hopefully it will be a little warmer)
