Town boss Russell Slade was pleased with his side's performance against Wigan today, and he's also happy with pre-season where his side have faced some quality opposition.
He said: “Physically again it was a very good test, probably the toughest test because they pressed the ball much higher up the pitch.
“We had to work very hard to keep our shape and get into shape. At times we turned the ball over a little too cheaply, but there wasn’t too much in the game.
“They did it a little bit better than us in the first 10 minutes, but I thought between 15 minutes and the half-hour stage we got right into the game and had some good chances.
“There was some good play from Dembele down the right-hand side which caused them some problems. Overall, I’m really pleased, and I thought we maybe deserved that little bit of fortune in the last minute when we got ourselves a penalty.
“It shows just how competitive we’ve been against what were three Championship teams last season.”
