Killip Signs For The Mariners

15 July 2017

Grimsby Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper, Ben Killip on an initial one-year-deal.

The 21-year-old joined Town on trial at the beginning of pre-season, featuring in a number of fixtures, impressing both Goalkeeper Coach, Andy Warrington (pictured) and Manager, Russell Slade.

The young shot stopper began his career at Chelsea, where he joined the club at the age of 9. Spending 8 years at the London club, Killip made the move to Norwich City in November 2013 in an attempt to earn more game time. In his time at The Canaries, Killip worked alongside current Assistant Manager, Paul Wilkinson, who was Academy manager during 2014.

Since his trial invitation, Killip has featured for The Mariners in fixtures vs. Cleethorpes Town, Stamford A.F.C. and Scunthorpe United in the Lincolnshire County Cup.

Killip will be involved in today's matchday squad, when we welcome Barnsley to Blundell Park and will wear the number 30 shirt.

You will be able to catch Ben's first interview exclusively on iFollow later this afternoon.
