TOWN'S assistant manager Mickey Moore was pleased with today's reserves performance at Chesterfield, but he says that they got a lot more out of the game than just the victory.
He said "It was a good work-out for the lads that haven't been playing regular. It was a good opportunity for them to get minutes. The performance was good, I'm happy. You get out of these games what you want to get out of them, and the big thing for us was to get no injuries, to get the players that haven't been playing to get ninety minutes of football."
And Mickey was pleased for striker Adi Yussuf who bagged two goals today.
He said: "Good for Adi, that will do his confidence the world of good. He had two or three opportunities to go and get his hat-trick, which he'll be disappointed with, but at least he was there to have the shots. When your forwards are not creating chances that is probably more concerning than when they are not scoring."
Asked about Akwasi Asante's performance, he said: ""We want to try and Akwasi on the score-sheet as well, get him into the box. I thought he played well today, at times he played a lot of his football outside the box and we want him to get into the box a lot more."
And Sean McAllister's return after his latest injury set-back?
"All it was so that he could get a little bit of time on the pitch because he has had a set-back. We didn't want to do too much with him so he got the last 10 or 15 minutes. That will be good for him as well."
