TOWN boss Marcus Bignot saw some positive signs from the 1-1 draw with Crawley Town at Blundell Park on Saturday afternoon, but believes that the side need to start turning possession into clear cut goalscoring chances.
Speaking after the game, which saw an early goal from Sam Jones cancelled out by an equaliser just on half time from the Red Devils' James Collins before Town defender Danny Collins was sent off late on, Bignot said: ''If you look at the last two home games now, Wycombe and obviously today, I think the supporters and the club can see the signs in terms of how we wanna move forward and how we wanna play.
''I'd say especially the first half in those games, and I think in both games they're the times that we could've won it and certainly the second half in those games is where we possibly could've lost it as well.''
The Town boss was disappointed to see his side concede an equaliser at the time they did, and believes that is something that needs to change in the future.
He said: ''We have got to learn really really quickly because this league is not the league we've just come from.
''I believe every team has someone who is a bit special and good enough to play higher, so to let Collins, who we've spoken about in the week, get the rebound and score from a free kick is unacceptable.
''That can't happen so I'm really disappointed with the way the goal came about.
Bignot was particularly pleased with the performance of his side in the first half and will now be looking to build on that in coming matches.
He said: ''I thought we moved the ball really well first half.
''We got into some really good goalscoring opportunities and to evolve and be better, those opportunities now have got to become chances now because if you look at our possession, we got into some good positions but we didn't really create any chances.
''I can't really come away and say that was a chance we could've scored but how we're trying to go is encouraging.
''Like I say, I was disappointed with the second half, we left ourselves a little bit too bare and they've had some chances where they should've scored to be honest so we never really did that.
''I'm all for playing the beautiful game but I'm a winner and I look at it, they had more chances from us and that should be rectified.''
