GRIMSBY Town picked up their first away win in five games as they comfortably beat relegation-threatened Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.
Â
The Mariners, roared on throughout the game by more than 1,000 travelling supporters, took the lead with their first real attack as Sam Jones headed home from Danny Andrew’s cross.
Â
The home side had plenty of possession but struggled to seriously test the Town defence and when a Callum Kennedy own-goal doubled the visitors’ advantage 19 minutes from time, the points looked safe.
Â
A third goal from substitute Scott Vernon then put extra gloss on the scoreline as the Mariners put an end to a run which had seen them lose three and draw one of their previous four games on the road.
