St Andrew's Hospice Partnership

14 March 2017

GRIMSBY Town Football Club are delighted to announce St Andrew's Hospice as our designated charity partner for the current season.

Director, John Fenty was in attendance at the formal presentation of the partnership between the two organisations. "We are delighted to announce that St Andrews Hospice is going to be our designated charity", Mr. Fenty said. "They are such a worthy cause and do some tremendous work within the local community. The hospice is reliant on donations and hopefully we can do our little bit to help them to continue to provide the care and support for the people that really need it."

Events Manager and Fundraising Team Leader at St Andrew's Hospice, ZaZa Warren described her excitement at the charity partnership with the football club. “I am delighted that Grimsby Town Football Club has chosen St Andrew’s Hospice as their charity of the year.  We have a very good working relationship with the club already and they have always supported the hospice, but to be their official chosen charity is great. We have a lot of patients and staff who are keen Town supporters, so it was amazing to hear they will be dedicating a match to the hospice, allowing our patients and family to attend for free and experience the atmosphere and thrill of the game. Every penny raised for the hospice makes such a difference to us, so to be able to team up with GTFC to raise the awareness of the hospice and raise funds at the same time is a great opportunity. We are all looking forward to our partnership with the club and would like to say a big thank you for their support.”

Also in attendance was Director Philip Day, who is a firm supporter of the Hospice, which holds a special place in his heart. "When my mother spent her final days there the staff and nurses were fantastic not only with her but also in supporting the family. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention they gave as nothing was too much trouble to them. We could not have asked for more."

There will be a bucket collection for St Andrew's Hospice during the Cambridge United fixture on Friday 14th April. All donations made will be extremely well received and donated to a very worthy cause.
