Town boss Russell Slade has one or two ‘niggling’ injury doubts ahead of the visit of Carlisle United on Saturday.
It is hoped that James Berrett (back injury) and Martyn Woolford (illness) will recover in time to play against Keith Curle’s side.
Paul Dixon will definitely miss out after picking up his fifth booking of the season at Exeter last Saturday. Ben Davies and Sam Kelly, who has impressed at left-back recently, could be the ones to come in on Town’s left side.
Jamey Osborne, who got some more time under his belt against Burton reserves during the week, could come into Town’s 16 man squad on Saturday.
Sean McAllister, who is also nearing match fitness after recovering from injury, could be loaned out to get some much needed playing time under his belt.
Speaking at today’s press conference, Slade told us of his options for that vacant left-back spot. He said: “We’ve still got options. Ben Davies is flexible as you know, he can do either side, and so can Zak (Mills). Sam Kelly as well, who played in the reserves at left-back.”
Asked if Diallang Jaiyesimi could be in his thoughts for a start against the Cumbrian side, he said: “Of course he’s in the thoughts as well. In terms of going forward, let’s be honest, we have been lacking a little bit. Finishing things off or whether it’s been the final ball, we need to look at that and he will come into our calculations.”
