Siriki Dembele is set to miss Wednesday’s Checkatrade Trophy tie against Sunderland with a hamstring strain.

The frontman limped out of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie at Plymouth but the Town boss is hoping to have him available for the long trip to Exeter at the weekend

Slade is hoping to have Mitch Rose back in the starting in Xl against The Black Cats. The midfielder has been sidelined with a niggling ankle injury.

And the Town boss says that it will be some much needed match time for the former Newport County man. He said: “We are hoping Mitch Rose will get some football against Sunderland on Wednesday - that’s much needed from his point of view. With regards the others, we are waiting on Sam Kelly - he’s the only other one in terms of Wednesday’s game. If he’s fit, he will play.”

Jamille Matt has now fully recovered from a slight back strain and is set to play some part in Wednesday’s tie.
