Town boss Russell Slade is delighted to have Sean McAllister and Jamey Osborne back in full training after lengthy lay-offs through injury.
McAllister is yet to play for the Mariners this season after struggling with a persistence adductor muscle injury, while Osborne picked up a knee ligament injury after falling in training.
Both players featured in Wednesday’s reserves win at Bradford City, playing 30 minutes of the Central League game.
And Town boss Russell Slade is delighted to have both players back. Speaking on iFollow, he said: “I would say he (Jamey Osborne) is slightly ahead of schedule, for sure. We were thinking more back-end of November rather than the back-end of October.
“Probably two to three weeks in front of where we expected.
“Both of them played half an hour, both of them have come through so we’re delighted with that.
“It was an ideal kind of game for them to get through so they’re on their way now so they’ll be back in with us today, training again with the first-team so that’s really good news.
“It’s still going to take a little bit of time because they’ve missed so much, and they’re going to need some more reserve games and some more match-time before they’re available."
More from the Town boss on iFollow Mariners soon.
