TOWN boss Russell Slade has deemed the 4-1 defeat to Mansfield Town as unacceptable and is expecting a response from his players at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the game, he said: ''I'm obviously very disappointed with the performance, particularly with the way we've conceded the goals today.
''It was very milky in terms of the defending, they've not really undone us in open play so I said before that you have to value the basics to stand up in one on one situations, defend properly and do our job and we've not done that. ''
On not being ruthless enough
''We could quite easily have equalised after half time, as I say some of our build up play was decent enough and it looked like we could threaten their goal but again, there's probably not that ruthlessness in the final third to go and get that goal at a crucial stage.
''We've lost players in the box, we've talked about that in there and its about individual responsibility and collective responsibility as a team to do our jobs.
''It's frustrating, because some of the things we're doing as a football team are quite positive as we saw last week but this week, we go and shoot ourselves in the foot. It's not the performance you need against a strong physical side.
''You know you've gotta win first and second contact all over the pitch and you've gotta compete for 90 minutes. You can't do it on and off.''
On changes at Accrington
''You've kept faith for the first time and had the opportunity to keep faith but it's not given us – me, the fans or the club - what it requires so you have to look at it again.
''Sometimes you have to go right back down to basics but look, we have got a stronger squad, a stronger group now and jf we have to make changes we will
''It's no good thinking we'll get it right in a week or two's time, it's gotta be now because we wanna be looking up, we don't wanna be looking down and we've got the personnel here to progress but you know you can't turn in milky performances and we've not done it well enough in both boxes today.''
On what he wants Tuesday night
''I'm looking for a level of consistency, a high level of performance from everyone and real positivity and doing the basics really well.
''Sometimes in this league you've gotta win ugly, it can't always be scoring the perfect goal. You can count those games on one hand.
''You've got to find a way to win and if that means being ugly then that's what we've gotta do.''
