Ben Davies and Simeon Jackson both came through today’s reserves outing at Walsall with no ill-effects.
Town boss Michael Jolley was pleased to see Davies complete 75 minutes of the game and put himself in to contention for the trip to Swindon at the weekend.
Jolley said: “We didn’t plan for him [Davies] to play the full 90 minutes but I believe he completed about 75 minutes. I didn’t speak to him directly afterwards but I believe that he felt good and he got through the game well. He’s in good shape and available to be selected this Saturday. Obviously Ben’s a really experienced player for us and one of the leaders in the dressing room. To have him back with us and available is a big boost.”
And the Town boss admits that Simeon Jackson isn’t quite fully fit just yet.
He said: “Simeon is still not all the way there, he’s not 100% back to where he would like to be or where we would like him to be. Clearly we are up against the clock a little bit, in terms of the time length left in the season. He’s pushed himself and we’ve pushed him to try and get him back on the grass. Obviously he came on for a short spell against Barnet and he’s had another 70 minutes on the grass today. He’s certainly moving forward and is in our thoughts regarding the weekend.”
