Grimsby Town Football Club can confirm that defender, Danny Collins has undergone surgery after suffering a broken arm during our 1-1 fixture vs. Lincoln City on Saturday.
Collins suffered a transverse fracture to the ulna in his right arm in the third minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Lincoln City as a result of falling awkwardly after winning a header against Shay McCartan (above). Despite the injury, Collins went on to complete the full 90 minutes of the fixture.
After x-ray results confirmed the break on Saturday evening, Collins underwent surgery on Sunday afternoon to realign and plate the bone which was a success.
Collins will now be sidelined for a number of weeks and we wish Danny a full and speedy recovery.
