Grimsby Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Shrewsbury Town defender, Luke Hendrie on loan until January 2019.
Predominantly a left or right full-back, the 23-year-old came through the Academy system at Manchester United, signing his first professional contract with the club in the summer of 2012. Following his release from the Red Devils, Hendrie completed a successful trial period at Derby County, eventually signing a two-year-deal with The Rams.
In the summer of 2015, Hendrie signed for Championship side, Burnley after impressing during a pre-season friendly against the club whilst on trial at Bradford City. During his time at the club, Hendrie enjoyed a number of loan spells at Hartlepool United, York City and Bradford City, with his most successful spell coming on loan at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, making 33 appearances for the Scottish club.
After making 18 appearances for Bradford City on loan, Hendrie signed for Shrewsbury Town in January 2018 where he made 10 appearances for the club, helping them reach the Sky Bet League One Play-off, eventually falling short at Wembley against Rotherham United.
