Youngster, Brandon Buckley, who was handed a place on the bench against Rochdale on Tuesday night, tells us what was going through his head on the night.
“It was a really proud moment for me, me and my family. There was a few nerves there but I was excited and it’s good to be involved with the first team.
“I’ve been training with them a few times, before I went to Holland for one pre season match, I was on the bench.”
And Brandon says that he has learnt from his experience with the first team.
He said: “The professionalism. Really serious before training, the standards go up and you’ve got to keep up with the standards.”
Town boss Michael Jolley told us why he had named Brandon in his 16 man squad to face Dale.
He said: “Buckley is a surname which is synonymous with Grimsby Town. I’m happy for him and he’s worked hard to get his squad number, but he knows that there is plenty of work for him to do.”
