Following speculation to the contrary, Grimsby Town Football Club can confirm that there is no imminent announcement scheduled for the appointment of a new First Team Manager.
While we will not be drawn into a running commentary on individual applicants and the selection process, we can confirm that no candidate has formally been offered the position at this time. The Club continues to work diligently through a shortlist of applications with interviews continuing throughout this week.
As emphasised in the initial statement, this appointment is one of the most important in the Club’s history and we will continue our thorough due-diligence process to ensure we appoint the right candidate.
We are committed to finding the right candidate to retain the Club’s status in the Football League at the earliest possible opportunity and build a squad capable of challenging in League Two next season.
Paul Wilkinson and his backroom team continue to take charge of first-team affairs as the players prepare for Saturday’s home game against Exeter.
We will not be making any further comment at this time.
