Grimsby Town Football Club can confirm that it has reluctantly agreed terms for the transfer of Jamey Osborne to return to Solihull Moors for an undisclosed fee, at the request of the player.
“Due to Jamey being unable to settle in the area and for his own personal reasons, he wishes to stay in the Midlands to play his football”, said manager, Russell Slade. “We want players that want to play for us and want to win and therefore have to accept the fact Jamey’s heart and head is not in Grimsby Town FC.”
Osborne has also spoken exclusively to gtfc.co.uk ahead of his move back to Solihull Moors.
“The gaffer has made every effort to keep me at the Club but understands that my heart and head are not here”, said Osborne. “The staff at the Club as a whole have been fantastic and understanding with the personal circumstances surrounding my situation and I would like to thank them for allowing me to return home. The move allows me to be closer to home and my family which is incredibly important to me”.
The Club has recovered the monies outlaid, but acknowledges it remains a disappointing conclusion, but it moves on in the realism of the situation.
