Grimsby Town Football Club are pleased to announce the loan signing of Leeds United striker, Mallik Wilks until the end of the season.
Town have fought off competition from a number of clubs including Carlisle United and Chesterfield for the highly rated 19-year old’s signature.
Born in Leeds, Wilks signed a scholarship for his home-town club in 2015 following a number of impressive performances for Leeds' Under-18s. After a number of eye-catching performances for the club's youth sides, former coach Garry Monk drafted Mallik into the first team squad before signing his first professional contract late in December 2016.
Mallik returned to Elland Road from a loan spell with Accrington Stanley last month, after spending the first half of the season at the club.
Wilks played 24 times for Stanley, scoring five goals before returning to his parent club after playing against the Mariners as a substitute in December.
He will train with his new team mates today and will be included in the 18-man squad to face Luton Town tomorrow.
Mallik will wear the number 18 shirt.
