'The Last Memory' Play at McMenemy's This Evening

24 January 2018

Lee Blease

As part of the build up to our Sporting Memories fixture, we are putting on a very special event in McMenemy's this evening.

Talking Stock Productions from Halifax are kindly coming along to put on their play "The Last Memory", which is a true and moving story about a Father and Daughter's emotional journey as he battles the effects of Alzheimer's until ultimately, he can remember only one thing. That one thing is a big surprise and is all about Grimsby Town Football Club.

The play is being supported by local poet and Grimsby Town fan, Gordon Wilson (+ friends), who will be sharing prose and songs which will be themed all around local memories. Anyone who attended the Mariners Trust event "Can you hear the Grimsby sing" in November 2016 will vouch for what a fantastic night that was and we look forward to hearing more from these very talented fans.

All proceeds are in aid of Sporting Memories, so please support and bring along family and friends. If anyone has been touched by the impact of dementia, if you are simply a fan of amateur dramatics or if you really want to understand what a football club can mean to its fans, then this night is for you.

Doors open at 7pm, with the play commencing at 7:30pm prompt. Please note that entry may be refused once the play has started.

Tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased direct from the Blundell Park ticket office or by visiting our online ticket booking system. Tickets can also be purchased on the evening prior to the play commencing.
