We are pleased to announce the arrival of midfielder, Jake Hessenthaler on a two year deal.
The 24 year old, who has spent almost all of his footballing career at Gillingham, is the son of former Gills player and manager Andy.
Having begun his youth career at Chelsea, Hessenthaler was released by the London club and joined Gills as a teenager, progressing through the system at the Priestfield stadium.
He made his Football League debut against Rotherham United in November 2013, and signed a four-and-a-half year contract at the club three months later.
Speaking after Jake put pen to paper on the deal, Town boss Michael Jolley said: "Jake is a player I have admired for some time. He has played well over 100 games in League One at 24 years of age.
"He is highly industrious and fits very well with our belief in hard working and energetic players. He also has quality that can help the team next season.
"Jake has made a significant commitment to join Grimsby and I believe that he can improve and grow as a player with us.
"Please join me in welcoming Jake and give him your support."
